The film is an imaginary dialogue between a contemporary, orientalist, translator Alexander Meshcheryakov and the Japanese medieval monk Kenko-hoshi. A conversation between two people separated by time, but united in their vision of the world, subtly feeling the sadness and beauty of an ever-elusive life.
